Community Singing with Sherrill Blodget and Charles Madsen

Come sing for fun this weekend! Open to everyone who likes to sing or wants to try - no experience necessary, though experienced singers are welcome. VTSU Castleton Chamber Singers will also participate. Participants will warm up together learning breathing and basic vocal technique, then learn some choral arrangements of folk songs from Canada and the United States, including Bring Me a Little Water Sylvie (arr. Moira Smiley), Royal Hudson (arr. Nichols), It Don't Mean a Thing if It Ain't Got that Swing (Duke Ellington), The Storm is Passing Over (arr. Baker) and other uplifting choral arrangements.  At 4:00 PM we’ll share what we learned with friends and community in a musical showcase that includes performances by members of the Castleton Chamber Singers and BBA Singers.  Singing is good for the soul!

We will have refreshments following the presentation.
